How Uranai Reads
Uranai layers several traditions instead of treating one system as fate. Each layer keeps its own method, confidence level, cultural origin, source hierarchy and limitations, then contributes symbolic themes only where the calculation is responsible. The free version creates an overview, life path, tendency and growth-edge report you can download.
Calculated Layers
Four Pillars, Nine Star Ki, Sukuyo and Rokuyo use date or lunisolar calculations where the browser can support them. Birthplace is noted only where a method genuinely needs location.

Uranai is educational even before a visitor enters birth data. Related traditions are grouped instead of being counted as separate confirmations, and every layer is tied to a visible source tradition.

This is the working bibliography for the Uranai engine: what each source is allowed to influence, which source takes priority, and what claims must carry disclaimers.
Methodology
Related traditions are grouped together. BaZi, Saju Palja, and Shichu Suimei are treated as three national/cultural expressions of one Four Pillars family. They share the same East Asian stem-branch foundation and are not independently counted as separate votes.
Source hierarchy comes before improvisation. Four Pillars follows 萬民英《三命通會》 as master reference; Kyusei Kigaku is attributed to Sonoda Shinjiro’s systematization of 気学; Sukuyo places《宿曜経》at the top of its hierarchy; Western astrology uses Ptolemy’s Tetrabiblos only as broad historical grounding.
Birthplace is conditional, not universal. It can matter for true solar time in Four Pillars and for Ascendant/houses in Western astrology, but this free version does not resolve coordinates, historical timezone offsets, or ephemerides. If birthplace is Unknown, date-based layers continue and location-sensitive layers are omitted.
Overview is a synthesis, not a separate fortune-telling school. Core identity, beliefs, environment, health/rhythm, wealth/work, love and family role are written as reflective suitability language. The free version does not evaluate live geography, weather, politics, medical conditions, investments, or legal decisions.
六曜 is historical calendar practice, not fixed doctrine. Uranai cites historical almanac material such as『永代大雑書大成』and follows the National Diet Library’s explanation that names, order, and meanings changed over time and no single interpretation is the standard of correctness.
Lunisolar layers are table-based. Sukuyo uses a lunisolar month/day table method. Rokuyo uses the lunisolar month plus day remainder. Both are marked with limitations because official Japanese almanac edge cases can differ.
十二支 is named carefully. Uranai uses 十二支 / Zodiac Animal Profile rather than presenting guardian animal as a classical technical school. It is tied to zodiac-year material such as 足立星州『易学指針』and remains part of the wider stem-branch family.
Blood type receives the strongest disclaimer. Furukawa Takeji is kept as historical context for Japanese blood-type temperament discourse, not as scientific evidence. This layer is optional, cultural, and excluded from convergence scoring.
